Benefits of Becoming a Member of the
Alexis de Tocqueville Society

When you become a Tocqueville member, you have laid the groundwork for a successful campaign for the community. While giving can be its own reward and "benefits" may not be expected, your gift qualifies you for special opportunities.  As a Tocqueville member, you will receive:

  • Special recognition on United Way’s website and in print materials.

  • The opportunity to be listed in an annual recognition piece that includes a roster of donors. (Names are published on a permission granted basis. All others are counted as anonymous donors.)

  • An invitation to the annual recognition event and special invitations to participate in exclusive United Way events.

  • Networking opportunities with United Way leaders and other leadership donors.

  • A free subscription to What Matters, United Way's quarterly newsletter  to help you gain a better understanding of the tremendous impact you are making on the community.

  • Leadership lapel pins.

Karen Wimbish President, Latin American Group, Wachovia Securities

"I’m very familiar with the due diligence United Way goes through before they make an allocation— the level of detail that’s required for various agencies to provide before they get funding.
So, I’m willing and comfortable to allow United Way to make those decisions on my behalf and know that they will be good
shepherds of the money that I am contributing.”
